Past the blue planets, the sorting belt carries every decision in order. Most buttons have cooled. One remains hot enough to tint the dust pink. The Last Buyer arrives after the crowd, checks the broken edge, and presses it anyway. Nothing applauds. The terminal simply records one more passenger and resumes its quiet orbit.
